2018 PBES STARTALK

Chinese Immersion Summer Camp

Program Description:

The PBES three-week immersion program will offer 60 elementary students an intense but fun learning experience focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and Mandarin Chinese. It is open to all current students from kindergarten to fifth grade in Prince George's County, Maryland and its neighboring areas. Students will be divided into three classes of 20 students according to their grade levels: kindergarten - 1st grade, 2nd - 3rd grade, and 4th - 5th grade. 
 
Theme: From Seeds to Table 
Based on the theme, "From Seeds to Table", students will be able to make healthy choices, create colorful salads, demonstrate the understanding of where ingredients are from as well as basic nutrition. We will also introduce certain common Chinese vegetables and dishes. Hands-on activities will range from growing healthy food to exploring Chinese arts and crafts. There are two field trips planned for the camp.

Time: 9:00 am to 3:15 pm 

Tuition: FREE for all students but students should bring their own lunches.
